Good on Paper directed by Kim Gatewood (2021), is a film about a comedian who is trying to get a good break in Hollywood and we see her journey in doing just that but there is also the added layer of her getting into a relationship with a man who has lied about every critical detail about his life. Throughout the film we find out the lies with her and how she deals with them which is where the comedy comes in. The film is enjoyable to watch. It’s cheesy at times and a little too much most of the time but it makes the characters more endearing. The acting was mostly there and there was a disconnect at times but not enough to ruin the story. All in all, it’s a fun mindless film to watch but not something I would seek out or watch again.
Watched on Netflix.
