Starving (2014): Brief Review

Starving directed by Marcelo Briem Stamm (2014), is a film about a young man who experienced a sexual awakening with his best friend and it haunts him into adulthood where he uses sex to derive his self-worth to the point where he can’t keep a monogamous relationship because he has to be with other people to feel that gratification that he’s worth something in this world. It’s an interesting film that is heavy with sex, real sex, but it’s apart of life and as long as the actors were fine with everything going on then so am I. The story was a bit bland at times and the acting doesn’t always help but was interesting enough for me to keep watching. I wanted to see if he would be able to settle and move on with his life but it ended up with him getting a sort of revenge. Nothing was as I expected it. In the end, I will probably not watch this film again as it didn’t have enough substance for me and it’s worth a skip.
