Logan Lucky (2017): Brief Review

Logan Lucky directed by Steven Soderbergh (2017), is an film about a speedway heist, a hillbilly oceans eleven type crew, and how they got away with it. You care as much about the characters as you do about the heist itself. Which is more than I can say for most heist films. It’s a film that has you hooked from start to end. There wasn’t a part of it that wasn’t fascinating. Even the parts where you would think that you could guess the beats they are changed enough to throw you off. The acting is where it needed to be for all the characters involved. Even Channing Tatum is fairly believable in this film. Sometimes I can’t connect with his characters specifically due to his acting but I didn’t have that problem while watching this film. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending where it allows an opening for a sequel or follow up of some sort. Just wrap it all up and let it be. Not every film needs the story line left open. All in all, it’s a highly enjoyable film worth watching.
