Beauty and the Beast (2017): Brief Review

Beauty and the Beast, directed by Bill Condon (2017), is retelling of the animated Disney film based on the French fairytale of the same name. I have this faint remembrance of everyone being a bit peeved about the singing and the fact that Disney made a live-action version without much difference from the animated version which made them feel like they were ripped off. I can definitely say that I get why they would feel ripped off. You could easily just watch the animated version, which is the superior version, and be satisfied knowing that you’re not missing much. With the singing, I honestly felt that it was over corrected to death with software instead of just letting the actors have their voices with their imperfections show through but I wouldn’t have thought much of it. However, I did have a big issue with it, the acting was bland as hell with the exception of Josh Gad. He was entertaining as hell. At the end of the day, I could skip this.
