Peddle the World, directed by and starring Felix Starck (2014), is a film about biking across the world. He makes an amateur attempt at traveling the world by bike while documenting his adventure. However, it’s less about his adversities, adventure, and more about the joys he found, the people he invited to join him, or how he just skips the hard parts to make room for things he knows he will enjoy or deserves. At the beginning you feel a brief moment of excitement but then you are gradually let down by him skipping large swaths of land via plane in order to enjoy the trip more. In that sense, it’s less about only this guy was crazy enough to do it and document, and more of joy of traveling while biking in different parts of the world. I feel that if I had a different set of expectations I would have enjoyed this film more.
